Side Event: Advancing Mobility Research – Early Achievements from the MOBIDEC Program

This event introduces the international audience to the research on mobility conducted in France through its flagship research program.
The Priority Research Program and Equipment (PEPR) MOBIDEC, a flagship initiative under France 2030’s « Strategic Investment Financing » designed to drive fundamental research (TRL 1–4) at the intersection of digitalization and decarbonization of mobility. Led by IFP Energies nouvelles and Gustave Eiffel University, MOBIDEC mobilizes France’s national research community and transportation ecosystem stakeholders to address three critical challenges:
- Understanding and anticipating the mobility of people and goods,
- Collecting, structuring, and interpreting mobility data at scale,
- Developing decision-making tools to simulate the impact of public policies and evaluate innovative transport solutions.
Aligned with hEART 2026’s mission to foster excellence in transportation research, this session will present early achievements from MOBIDEC’s projects. Through concise project spotlights, the session will highlight how MOBIDEC’s interdisciplinary approach contributes to smarter, greener, and more equitable mobility systems. Attendees will gain insights into cutting-edge methodologies and collaborative frameworks that bridge academia, mobility actors, and public authorities.
